What Joy--
For the dismissal song at school today, the students sang this song from last spring's school program. Anja Miller sang in the high school choir. She loved to sing and had a beautiful voice.
"What Joy---Within the Courts of God" by Claudia Esh
What joy―within the courts of God
To find our spirits’ native land.
Released from chains of earth and time,
Redeemed before Christ's face to stand.
The heights of glory we shall climb,
The richest depths of love we’ll know;
There we shall gaze upon the One
We have but dimly glimpsed below.
The molded clay that blinds our eyes
Shall shatter at that trumpet sound;
The sins and tear stains of the world
Shall fall like rags upon the ground.
With faces raised toward the light
We’ll stand perfected at His throne,
To drink the cup of endless life
And know at last as we are known.
What songs as heav'n and earth unite
Ascend unto Jehovah there,
And what harmonious thunders pour
As holy incense on the air!
For this, for this we watch and wait,
For this throughout the years have cried:
Our God shall come, and in that day
We shall be fully satisfied!
Thanks to Nathan Yutzy for posting on Facebook the words to the song in memory of Anja. Goosebumps and tears. The students' singing can do that to me.
Can someone among the blog readers tell us more about the writer of this song or the circumstances of its writing?

I've learned that the text won an annual "words for a song" competition at Shenandoah Music Camp and Lyle Stutzman wrote the music. He was our school's music teacher and the director of the choir. I had forgotten that Lyle wrote the music.

Is there any way that I could get the music for this song? I would love to learn it.
